Cats are best stir-fried. (mostly a joke. Cat meat is probably not all that edible.)
Dogs are far better. Dogs can be trained to do various jobs. Cats generally cant.
Have you ever seen a watchcat? a narcotics cat? a epilepsy-cat? a bomb-cat? a tom-cat?
If there are young children that have a sandbox, it has to be covered up if there are cats within quite some distance (many houses outwards) otherwise it will be used as a toilet. Dogs do not do such.

actually, dogs are companions and friends.
In general, dogs are exceptionally social animals, very much inherited from their wolf ancestors.
The only useful things cats can be used for is catching vermin and identifying potentially spoiled food. Cats lack strong immune system, so they can't (and wont) eat meat that is spoiled. Of course, humans can eat much of what they cant eat, so the advantage in using a cat is questionable.'
enslaving oneself to a cat is rather silly if they are as you say "masters"
