That happened to me too. I also met RH in , hm, "advanced" age and cannot really explain my enthusiam to others. They simply won't understand. And I can't explain to anybody, that I for example grieved for *Tawny Man spoiler* RE: "First, let me introduce you to yourself" - 'thul - Dec-21-2011 Properly designed fictional characters take on a life of their own. There are things they simple cannot / will not do, no matter what the author tries. RE: "First, let me introduce you to yourself" - Farseer - Dec-21-2011 So you know why it looks a bit different, I'm just letting you know that I have added a spoiler tag for your previous post, finella, just in case someone comes in to introduce themseves here but hasn't read up to Tawny Man by that stage. Hm, I might have to do a general sift through to catch any others that I may have missed elsewhere...no doubt half of them would be mine!...if anyone comes across any at any time, please point it/them out - thanks. I agree though, this Hobb obsession is very difficult to explain to others and still sound sane...! Oh, thank you, Farseer! You are totally right. Specially here it's the completely wrong place not to be careful with spoilers. I just didn't think . RE: "First, let me introduce you to yourself" - Cara Vestrit - Jan-01-2012 hey, i'm Cara Vestrit and i'm new. (obviously ). I began reading Robin Hobb´s books because one of my closes friends is a big fan of her. I´ve read Farseer, Live Ships, Tawny Man and Dragon keeper, dragon haven and city of dragons. I´m hoping to buy blood of dragons tomorrow, when the stores are open again. I read really fast so i´ll probably finish it after one day of looking like this . I ran across this site while surfing the internet for the release date I´m a big fantasy fan, altough i also enjoy other stories. RE: "First, let me introduce you to yourself" - Farseer - Jan-02-2012 Well met and welcome, welcome, welcome to thePlenty, Cara Vestrit! Feel free to jump into any discussions you find here. I am green with envy that you have already been able to read CoD and will soon have read BoD as well!! Feel free to discuss the plot points in the relevant threads here... City of Dragons or Blood of Dragons ...but, as most here on thePlenty (including me! ) have not yet read them or will not have read them until either February through to April, it would be best to use spoiler tags to hide all spoilers for the time being. Enjoy!! EDIT: Oh! In case you don't know yet, here are the instructions on how to insert the spoiler codes from the Forum FAQ thread: (Apr-30-2008, 08:12 PM (UTC))Mervi Wrote: spoilers Please let us know if you need further clarification on the spoiler tags. RE: "First, let me introduce you to yourself" - fool-ish - Jan-02-2012 Hello Cara Vestrit RE: "First, let me introduce you to yourself" - Valarya - Jan-02-2012 Blood of Dragons is already being released somewhere, too!?! City of Dragons isn't even out for English-speaking countries, yet! This is unfair!!!!! --- But yes.. Welcome, Cara! RE: "First, let me introduce you to yourself" - joost - Jan-02-2012 The Dutch hardcover of Blood of dragons (Drakenbloed) was released last week. I initially wanted to wait for the English version, but I'm seriously tempted to just buy the Dutch versions anyway (and the English when they're released). RE: "First, let me introduce you to yourself" - Valarya - Jan-02-2012 How how HOW can a translated copy be released before the ORIGINAL version!? I want to cry. |
