RE: art...(LST and RWC spoilers) - 'thul - Jul-28-2011 Yes, that would be a stretched out body, except for the torso. RE: art...(LST and RWC spoilers) - 'thul - Sep-04-2011 These beings have gotten somewhat further (with long breaks) on the 3D-model of Thymara... Tested out an external renderer for the above image. RE: art...(LST and RWC spoilers) - 'thul - Sep-06-2011 These beings have reworked the hand now, making it elderling-proportioned. Still not added the claws, but the fingers have been prepared for clawing. ![]() RE: art...(LST and RWC spoilers) - 'thul - Sep-07-2011 These beings have built one of ten claws now... ![]() This elderling will have unique claws on all fingers/toes. RE: art...(LST and RWC spoilers) - 'thul - Sep-08-2011 as mentioned down in the Pet Peeves thread, we're almost finished with the 3D model of Thymara. We've gotten all the main details in now. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Does the model look fairly correct to your imaginations as to what she might look like? RE: art...(LST and RWC spoilers) - Farseer - Sep-09-2011 Looking good, 'thul beings! ![]() I have to do a RWC re-read (not that I've progressed any further through AQ in the last few months, let alone LST or TM! ![]() Either way, between you and Rapscal, I have firm hopes that Sintara has no idea as to what she's talking about and Thymara will truly fly one day! ![]() RE: art...(LST and RWC spoilers) - 'thul - Sep-09-2011 The wings in the book were fairly tiny. If their bone structure is similar to here and they fold up similarly, the wing length would probably be no more than 1-1.3 meters. Not quite figured out of they are large enough to support flight, but they should be near large enough. Provided that Thymara-as-Elderling is not particularly heavy. Oh, it might be that Sintara will be able to affect the growth to fit the wishes of her Elderling. Its been proven that Sintara was stubborn but wrong about her own wings, and if there's one thing she still is, it is stubborn and full of pride. Having the first Elderling with wings is a small thing... having the first Elderling with wings that can also fly, is quite a bit more. The size of Thymara's wings originally was very small. But that is to a certain degree due to the fact that they had mostly grown inside her body and were limited by that. Having them outside, where sun can be found for the nourishment that provides as well, growth will increase. Though having Rapscal around to force growth will be even more effective. If she learns to fly, it'll naturally start with long gliding leaps, then slowly increase in distance till true flight is achieved. Seeing that she's two-legged, she'll also have to learn how to land gracefully. Regular sunning and flapping will increase blood flow and strength. It was through a partial re-read that these beings discovered her eye color. As can be seen above, early images has her blue-eyed. It turns out that her eyes are silvery gray. These beings have tried to get the Elderling bluish glow, but not succeeded yet. This image shows one of those attempts. ![]() Two images of similar angle, with the latter being slightly larger: ![]() ![]() Couple of different angles, latter showing the face better: ![]() ![]() By the way, are the claws how you would imagine them? No need for the spoiler tags as I tagged the thread title a long while back and have just now included Farseer and Tawny Man, but, having a look back at this old post, I think I may have acquired my tiara-like interpretation purely from the stained-glass window that Fitz saw in the Map Tower of the Kelsingra Citadel of Records. I recall, I think, that he noted the woman had a red band around or on her head (this being the dark-haired and dark-eyed lady who I link the Outislander/Farseer traits back to as evidence of having lived or even ruled there in Kelsingra in ancient times, or even a link to Nettle or somesuch's future...but that's for all of those *other threads* that I've prattled on about it in ![]() RE: art...(spoilers all RotE books) - Farseer - Mar-20-2013 No, can't have been that, or could it? Fitz says, '...wore a band of bright red on her brow.' Sounds more like the kind of band that Chade wore for Fitz (with his charging buck sigil), rather than a crest. RE: art...(spoilers all RotE books) - 'thul - Mar-20-2013 Hard to say exactly, that is. Though it is not RotE, these beings feel like posting another image... or rather, a link to it, as the image is quite large. http://student.umb.no/~henrgj/diverse/TellinDar16-3.jpg |
