Valarya was going to start a new thread, not knowing that this one existed, so just copying and pasting that post now : (Feb-27-2012, 05:05 PM (UTC))Valarya Wrote: I recently moved house (about a month ago) and, as I was setting up my most prized possession, I thought about you guys and decided to take a picture of it SOLELY for making this thread. RE: Show us your bookshelves! - FoolishGirl - Feb-28-2012 Just lovely, Valarya! Amazing bookshelf. I see many of my favorites. I like how you've arranged the books with a "keystone" title beneath the other titles (e.g., The Silmarillion, of course). ![]() Makes me long for the hard copies of all the electronic books I have...someday! ![]() Thanks for sharing. RE: Show us your bookshelves! - 'thul - Feb-28-2012 These beings thought their camera was poor... (from viewing images at 150% size or so) but the detail on your images was strangely poor, almost reminding 'thul of their last camera (at the end it gave nice black images with sparkly white dots)... The dynamite crate is a perfect bookshelf. 'thul would've loved to have more than two of them... RE: Show us your bookshelves! - joost - Feb-28-2012 Made them a little bit smaller. Camera is a phone camera and my room is poorly lit, so that contributes to the crap quality. RE: Show us your bookshelves! - fool-ish - Feb-28-2012 That's some book collection you got there joost! Valarya, 'thul yours look fab too! Mine's a tiny thing in comparison, but it's all I have room for. I've not finished filling it yet, but Thursday I intend to gather all books and see what can go, what can stay and what I can squidge into the bookcase. I'll do a pic when it's complete. It's lacking knick-knacks too, another thing to be remedied. ![]() RE: Show us your bookshelves! - 'thul - Feb-28-2012 If 'thul get the chance, they would sometime make copies of those crates they have. It won't be the same, but the design is very good. RE: Show us your bookshelves! - Valarya - Feb-29-2012 (Feb-28-2012, 06:10 PM (UTC))FoolishGirl Wrote: Just lovely, Valarya! Amazing bookshelf. Thanks!! ![]() ![]() @Joost - the smaller resolution works better. I feel I can actually see the books better, if that makes sense. Hah RE: Show us your bookshelves! - 'thul - Feb-29-2012 Another proof that cellular cameras (for the most part) are almost useless. RE: Show us your bookshelves! - fool-ish - Feb-29-2012 Quite amazingly, my daughter has given me permission to display her adult editions of Harry Potter in the bookcase (the original ones are in a terrible state!) The box they came in would have looked great on the shelf, but she won't allow that to leave her room, at any cost. I'm lucky to get the books, she said and if anything should happen to them, then I shall feel her wrath! ![]() RE: Show us your bookshelves! - joost - Mar-25-2012 New cellphone with a better camera. ![]() Anime DVDs, manga's and Wheel of time ![]() Terry Pratchett and David Eddings ![]() The rest of the books. Top shelves are mostly comics. |
