RE: National Customs - Farseer - Aug-07-2012

Not really anything to do with 'customs' but I'm curious about any options you have for roadside assistance in your country. I'm no even sure what else other Australians do but here in Queensland we have RACQ (Royal Automobile Club of Queensland) which offers various subscriptions/levels to their roadside assistance/insurance etc service. Living in such an isolated region with long distances between locations, I just couldn't live without my membership of the group. EDIT: Just re-read this post and had to chuckle at the fact that I'd almost used the RACQ slogan here without even thinking...it being, of course, RACQ - "wouldn't be without them"! END EDIT

When I got off the plane to come back home the night before last, I went to get into my car only to discover that my battery was flat. I'd had a late-night arrival into the terminal so the long-term carpark where my car was parked was also in the process of being locked for the night and wouldn't be reopened until 4am the next day. If it was not for RACQ coming very promptly to give me a jump-start to get me out of there, my daughter and I would have had an even more interesting night than we did...

RE: National Customs - fool-ish - Aug-07-2012

We have the AA - Automobile Association, RAC, don't know what that stands for and Green Flag all offering much the same service for different costs.
