RE: "The Next Book" - Farseer - May-20-2010

Will post this here, though also following on from a bit of discussion in the Dragon Keeper discussion thread...

In response to the question 'How many Rain Wild books?', this is what Robin had to say via her live journal http://robin-hobb.livejournal.com/ on May 13th:

This seems to be a recurring question in the comments so I will answer it here.

The Rain Wilds Chronicles was written as a single manuscript, and then divided into two volumes for publication. Dragon Keeper and Dragon Haven are those two books.

My next published book will be a collection of stories featuring shorter works by both Robin Hobb and Megan Lindholm.

The untitled book I am working on now picks up the tale of the Tarman expedition in search of Kelsingra. It’s my work in progress and threatens to be a long book!

I hope that answers the question. And thanks to everyone who asked.

RE: "The Next Book" - tiatsuchi - May-30-2010

I hope she never stops writing this universe. If she does, it will be a sad day in literature.

RE: "The Next Book" - Farseer - May-31-2010

I'm with you, tiatsuchi Joker!!!

RE: "The Next Book" - Nuytsia - May-31-2010

Whoa how did I miss that post about the RWC of Farseer's !!!!
I didn't actually know for sure that the book Robin is now working on would actually feature (at least some of) the characters from 'the Tarman expedition' !!!

Ooooh good to know! In a way I found myself just getting intrigued by the characters about half way through Dragon Haven so I'd love to see how they develop.

Dare I say it, maybe some old favourites could become involved - no I better not say it! Pirate

RE: "The Next Book" - Farseer - Jun-01-2010

I hope I am allowed to post these sorts of things on here?!

In answer to the question, "Will there be another Rain Wilds book after Dragon Haven?", this is what Robin had to say on her site on May 29th:

I’m working on a book set in the Rain Wilds. My deadline for the writing is December 2010. It will probably appear in print in May of 2012. It doesn’t have a title yet.

Looks like two years to the next RotE book but at least it's a goal, and we'll have 'The Inheritance' (and thePlenty!) to help get us through Clapping !

And the mysterious "Blue Boots" in [[Songs of Love and Death]] - it comes out in November! Smiling

RE: "The Next Book" - Farseer - Jun-02-2010

Yes, 'Blue Boots', how could I forget Yay ?! A great time to be a Hobb fan!

RE: "The Next Book" - Nuytsia - Jun-02-2010

Ooooh all good news!
