There would be no benefit in posting up what view these beings have out their window, for it is lacking. Not that the windows are possible to look out of right now. One is covered by a quilt, the other by a woolen scout cloak, all dragon-sized, naturally...

@ 'thul: Yes, as much as I love the Downs country, there is indeed something about mountains and the views from their summits...
@ fool-ish: What's happened to your car?! My husband and I will be visiting the Mother Country one day...IF he doesn't go and do an Ephron on me!

I love it though, and can't really imagine living in less space...I tried and it just didn't work.

We had to let the car go Farseer after my husband lost his job. I've grumbled about it every single day since and I'm now in the process of trying to save for another one...a slow process, but coming on nonetheless.

That's just horrible to hear...that a) your husband lost his job and b) that it's also meant the loss of your car!
Life can be overwhelmingly frustrating when things happen and you have no control over them. Still, I'm glad to hear that you are now able to take the matter in hand and are in a position to get to setting things aright...albeit bit by bit. It will certainly give you a clear goal when you wake up for your shifts each day.
Power to you! 
I couldn't live here without a car, and a reliable one at that. Of course, I suppose I could always pack an overnight bag and ride a horse to town.

I must admit that it would drive me nuts living there though. I feel like a rat trapped in a box whenever I reach town or city limits.Dare I admit this to the world? Once I was down in my state's capital with one of my sons to see a specialist. We had already had to stay in the city the previous night and I was down the main street ringing a bus company from a phone booth to organise tickets home. I was unable to book any as all seats on the one and only bus were full. I didn't have enough money to buy a plane ticket so I started sobbing on the phone so hard because I just couldn't stand the thought that I would have to spend a second night in the city.
I must have sounded rather desperate as the lady on the other end quickly re-booked another couple's seats to the next day and put my son and I in their place. I feel rather (okay, VERY!) guilty about that now but, at the time, I was just too grateful and too relieved to care!
I am not nearly so bad these days but I still get to the city and do what I need to do as quickly as I can and get out of there!
I consider it more of a concrete jail than a concrete jungle...

It was and still is frustrating, though things are a little better than they were. I do try to think of the little luxuries in life when I go to work, because the gods know I get very little satisfaction from the job these days. And now I'm gonna stop moaning, lest I start to get on my own nerves again! 
I couldn't imagine living where you do either Farseer, though it does look lovely and peaceful and can fully understand why you feel hemmed in when you visit the city. It must feel so...cluttered!

Funny you say that because I feel absolutely uncomfortable with so much space. Any time we have to go towards country country, I want to be there as little as possible & can't wait to get back to civilization, hahah. The moment I'm back in the city, everything feels OK again.
The only time I don't feel that way is when I'm on vacation in the mountains or the beach.

These beings rarely have patience to remain on the beach long. Its nice to roll in the sand to clean one's scales, but deserts are far better for that.
