I just used this on someone (actually, it was my husband Whistling ...I'm far too kind and far too much of a goody two-shoes to speak to anyone else like this! P) so thought I'd share it here:

"Shut up and listen will you? Your mouth is robbing your ears." Jackie French's 'Somewhere around the corner'

intriguing...

from Belgariad book 1, Pawn of Prophecy:
"I've always admired Cherek architecture," Silk said sardonically. "It's so
unanticipated."

"is that him?"
"no. that's the buffet table"
"how can we be sure unless we question it?"

"he's dead"
"yeah. I'll have a talk with him all the same."

For me there would definitely be a few, ranging from great and inspirational to stupid and mundane Smiling

2 from Gandhi I really love;
- 'The weak can not forgive; Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong'
&
- 'A coward is incapable of exhibiting love; it is the prerogative of the brave.'

Then 2 from Mark Hoppus from Blink182;
- 'I never thought of punk rock as the absolute act of rebellion for the sake of rebellion. There's a lot of that in there, but for me I think punk rock was always about questioning things and making decisions for yourself, which is a great message to pass on to your kids.'
&
- 'Screw them. Yeah. But not literally. I'm not advocating promiscuity.'

Dumbledore;
- 'One can never have enough socks'.

And finally, 1 from King Shrewd :3
- 'Don't do what you can't undo, until you've considered what you can't do once you've done it.'

Clapping Absolutely lovely choices there.
