Hi all
I'm not new but it's been ages since I was here and in fact I just discovered to my amazement that it's been almost 2 years since my last post!
Where DOES the time go?
I just never seemed to get time to come by and read all the latest stuff and then I stopped coming altogether and now here I am again!
Well since I was last here I've read CoD and BoD and now what am I doing to do! I guess there are some short stories I've missed...... hmmmm wonder what's next for RH?
Undecided

Only the gods know that... And maybe RH as well...

Hopefully this forum can go more on the active again. Its been very dry recently.

To answer Nuytsia's question - next is a short story coming out in an anthology in December and the BIG news : a new F&F book next August.
I've finally got my old desktop computer up and running again, not to mention a more or less permanent address (it's only been what, two years? P) so (and I know I've said this before) I really hope I can finally devote some time again for maintaining the forum and the site.

Yeah, not only is Robin writing a new Fitz & the Fool book.. she's writing a trilogy. It was announced a couple days ago that the first book is already done and at the publishers. She mentioned over on the Newsgroup that it was slated for a 2014 release (spring ish), but didn't have a month nailed down yet.

SO EXCITING!! Magic

Hello! I'm new here. Last December a lovely girl working at Waterstones recommended Assassins Apprentice to me. I brought it and read it over Christmas. I was hooked! So I brought and read all the books in order over the next 5 months. It was an incredible experience. I was utterly bereft when I finished.

I was lucky enough to meet Robin when she come to London last month, she signed the Farseer Trilogy and The Wilful Princess and The Piebald Prince for me.

I've just finished reading the Farseer Trilogy and The Tawny Man Trilogy for the second time, and I'm sure I'm going to read them all again before August. I'm super excited about The Fools Assassin!!

Hi there, new member here!

I read the first Farseer trilogy around six years ago. My then fiancee, now wife, read those first books shortly after. We both loved them, but didn't plough on immediately with any other RH books because the first ones were so special, we just wanted to let them linger.

Fast-forward to yesterday, and I find a nice short hardback titled 'The Wilful Princess and the Piebald Prince'. Memories and emotions come flooding back as I stand there in the bookshop reading the first few pages, and before long I'm home and reading it all in one sitting - such a wonderful story.

Ofcourse, the big news I learn when I search the internet for recent RH news is a new Fitz and Fool trilogy coming in August!

Which leaves me with a challenge.. how (and is it even possible?) can I get up-to-date, so I'm ready to queue at midnight for my hardback Fool's Assassin, and enjoy it with all the other fans around the globe. Are there too many books I have yet to read to be ready in time to join the party?

Suggested strategies please! Bear in mind, I have around two spare hours a day around RL commitments - and gone are the days I can read through the night when the mood takes me and the story is good enough.

Thanks!

(I would have asked this on a more appropriate board, but the spoiler warnings there scare me so bad I dare not leave this beginners thread..!) =)

The golden fool trilogy is a must-read before the new books, because they tell the story of Fitz and the fool between the end of the Farseer books and the beginning of the new books. The idea for willful princess is actually based on a plot line from the Golden fool trilogy.

The liveship traders aren't absolutely necessary to read before the Golden fool books, but you'll miss quite a lot of backstory if you skip those.

So I suggest the following reading order:
- Farseer
- Liveship traders
- Golden fool

Since I have no idea what the new story will bring, I'm leaving out the Rainwild chronicles. They're the continuation of the Liveship traders, although there are some references to both the Farseer trilogy and the Golden fool trilogy.

Thanks, Joost. My Tawny Man books are in the post. I'll read Liveship Traders when/if I get time, and certainly during those months we'll be waiting on episodes in the new trilogy.

It seemed best to choose Tawny Man as the trilogy that definitely got read before August.. =)
