Things that use contradicting timelines are indeed most annoying... It is ok if it is done in a way that doesnt mess up the space-time continuum, but situations like the one you described, do just that.

An example of situations that do not mess it up are the various time travel / parallel universe episodes in stargate. Either it changes the future in some way (time travel), or it only affects a parallel universe, and not the main one. In the former of those, the previous future from before the time travel is quite simply erased. gone forever. That is good. Having dual futures that contradict each other but exist at the same time is wrong.

But then, nearly all the animated Disney movies of recent years are attempts at milking a dead bull. (yes, bull. You read correctly. Disney cant even figure out that its not female.)

Not Disney but I immediately think of the Nickelodeon movie Barnyard . My husband and I took my daughter to see it in Townsville when it was released, and I nearly did my block when I saw Otis with an udder! Mad I still don't know how I managed to remain in either the seat or cinema...

Even the Wikipedia entry states the 'he' (Otis) is 'a cow', and that's exactly like saying 'he' is a 'woman'. A cow is only ever a female!

When I think of all of the children who would have viewed that movie... Rant
