ahh... these beings enjoyed the TV show version of that (vampire diaries) better than the book version... there just was something that struck a wrong chord in it.

still, these beings might check out Night World, if you deem it decent. possibly even if you do not.

I'll be sure to give my verdict when I'm done

RE: [split] Vampires and Vampirism - 'thul - Aug-11-2012

excellent...

These beings will just have to finish up the current books of that song of ice and fire... less than 1.5 books left now...

Ah yes, that song of ice and fire thing..

RE: [split] Vampires and Vampirism - 'thul - Aug-25-2012

These beings just finished (after starting it monday-ish) reading the "vampire kisses" series.
'thul found it in their archive on random browsing. Its "young adult" but still fairly enjoyable.

Stories revolve around a female goth lead, obsessed with vampires and somewhat of a social pariah, and some stuff with vampires. Not going to spoil more...

Vampirism aspects utilized:
- fangs
- occasional blood-red eyes
- bloodthirst
- can be made/born, the latter age normally for a while, then slow down, then eventually stop aging.
- allergy to garlic
- not appearing in photos
- strong dislike of mirrors when looking at them, no reflection.

fairly classic, in other words, with some few twists.

These beings found an interesting new series to read on...

there's vampires of course, but the real treat in them are the so-called "vampyrus"... They're a species of humanoid vampire bats. with extra limbs in the form of wings growing out of their backs. They can hide such at will and seem human... oh, and they are capable of supersonic flight.

Vampires are made by such biting humans, but the vampires are pretty much all evil.
