Songs in The Farseer trilogy - Changer - May-07-2009

I was wondering if anyone knows if there are lyrics availible from the songs that were described in the Farseer trilogy. If so, I'd really apreciate if someone could post a link hereSmiling I want the songs(if there are no lyrics that makes it more fun for me^^) to use them in an attempt to write a concept-album thingy for my band so thanks in advanceSmiling

Sorry I can't be of help with the lyrics.. but that is a cool idea!! Good luck Smiling

RE: Songs in The Farseer trilogy - Tintaglia - May-07-2009

Really, it's a GREAT idea! I don't think there are lyrics from the songs in the books; I found a song inspirated to Fitz, if you think it'd be useful...

Sure, every little bit helps Smiling thanks a lot, I'll be sure to post the lyrics when I've written them Smiling

Here it is! ^^

Hand Of Sorrow

Within Temptation

The child without a name grew up to be the hand
To watch you, to shield you, or kill on demand
The choice he'd made he could not comprehend
His blood a grim secret they had to commend

He's torn between his honor and the true love of his life
He prayed for both but was denied

So many dreams were broken and so much was sacrificed
Was it worth the ones we loved and had to leave behind
So many years have past, who are the noble and the wise?
Will all our sins be justified?

The curse of his powers tormented his life
Obeying the crown was a sinister crime
His soul was tortured by love and by pain
He surely would flee, but the oath made him stay

He's torn between his honor and the true love of his life
He prayed for both but was denied

So many dreams were broken and so much was sacrificed
Was it worth the ones we loved and had to leave behind
So many years have past, who are the noble and the wise?
Will all our sins be justified?

Please forgive me for the sorrow
For leaving you in fear
For the dreams we had to silence
That's all they'll ever be
Still I'll be the hand that saves you
Though you'll not see that it is me

So many dreams were broken and so much was sacrificed
Was it worth the ones we loved and had to leave behind
So many years have past, who are the noble and the wise?
Will all our sins be justified?

Okay this is the plan: The entire concept will exist out of songs and intermezzo's that will fill up the gaps in between the songs though they might not be used. I was thinking of this
- Moonseye, Burrich, and the Princes(intermezzo/Introduction)
- Buckkeep (song)
- Newboy and Molly Nosebleed (Intermezzo)
- Breaking bonds (song)
- King's man (song)
- Lessons (intermezzo)
- Lady Thyme and Forge (song)
- Learning The Skill and Smithy (intermezzo)
- Attack on Burrich and Verity's bride (intermezzo)
- The mountains and Regal's betrayel (song)

This is what I've got for now, for Royal Assassin I was thinking about these themes:

- Return to Buckkeep
- Old and new enemies
- Verity's ships
- Nighteyes
- Molly
- Antler Island Tower
- Verity's Quest
- The siege of Neatbay
- The prince-in-waiting ceremony
- The dungeon

For Assasin's Quest (very incomplete):

- From wolf to man
- Forged onces and the road to Tradeford
- Old Blood
- Tradeford
- Starling Birdsong
- Bleu lake
- Kettle and to the mountains
- Moonseye
- Jhaampe
- The Skill road
- The city
- The garden
- The quarry
- Verity's Dragon
- The Skill and the Wit
- Molly and Burrich
- Waking the Dragons
- Cleansing of Buck
- Return to Buck

Please tell me what you think of this Smiling

I always sigh when I read "In the last dance of chances". I'd love to hear someone sing that. I hear it to myself as a soft waltz rhythm with an instrumental section between verses. Poor Fool.

I have a program piece on my website entitled "Antler Island Tower" telling the tale of the battle there through orchestral music. It can be listened to on my website http://rjdobell.iweb.bsu.edu Just click the compostions link.
