huh... long time since these beings last posted here...
The story is now taking form more, though the sections written so far will possibly have to go through another rewrite to fit with the renewed background material.
These beings have now added quite a bit more to that, including a reworking of most sub-species to some degree. The Settled Sub-species were too tame (aside from the vampiric deep-dwellers)... 'thul merged two of them because they were to similar and simple to be true sub-species, then added one new sub-species, the Eddekin.These share at least a few traits with spiders, which 'thul thinks makes for an interesting species...

make that a rewrite on twelve of the sub-species.
The pack sub-species "Selen" went from being a mix of man, seal and beaver to more of a mix between man and seal, though perhaps a bit of sea lion snuck in.

excellent.
these beings began writing another small story segment late yesterday in order to figure out more on what one of the more recent additions (city-wise) looks like... it is about 1400 words long at the moment.
Later, that story segment will also go into detail on the newest sub-species, the aforementioned man-spider hybrid, called the Eddekin.

right now the story segment for that goes over about 3054 words, and it is far from finished. (it has, in fact, barely started)

These beings have now finished up that small story section. it ended up at 5082 words, with quite a bit potential for further sections. They have, with some vagueness, even managed to place in in the general timeline (10-15 years before all the other story segments)
Writing a short segment with the new subspecies helped develop it... not all the details originally planned worked out... some didn't fit... thankfully, those were easy to change...

I am finding it difficult enough to motivate myself to write some teensy posts here in my favourite online place, let alone all of that. Well done to you beings.
A great idea to develop things further via short story format.
