unfortunately a lot of the book files are in poor condition... the scanners did not do a proper job scanning.

Scanning isn't easy, but the OCR softwares can help a lot afterwards.

My library isn't too well organised (I am a messy person), but I can check if I have something you need. Maybe I have a better version..

the text-recognition software used on them was less than optimal, but it could have been worse...

the times these beings need new versions, they simply go online to acquire them. Its not unusual for 'thul to start reading a book series in their library, then move on to getting the rest online.
