Well, I have finally received a message from that magazine. On their site, they promise to respond within two months, but after 2,5 months of waiting and hearing nothing, I mailed them. I received a short message saying that they had mailed me before (no they haven't...) and that my story is not suitable for their mag.
Not suitable? What does that mean? That it's good, but not the kind of story they want? Or that they think it's crap? I could use some elaboration, people! Ah well, as discouraging as it is, it's one story and one magazine. I'll look for another place to publish my story.
Meanwhile, the deadline for my newspaper's story competition is today. I don't know yet when they'll announce the winners, but it should be soon. And probably on a saturday. I have no idea if I make any chance, but since all the entries have been posted on the newspaper's site, I can say this: at least it stands out from the crowd.
