Spent a lazy-ish day reading Jasper Jones by Craig Silvey ... the person who "did it" was easily predicted right from the beginning but a well-written, easy-to-read and enjoyable story nonetheless. It has been hailed as an " Australian 'To Kill a Mocking Bird' " and, while I think some of the Australianisms may be lost on others, the themes are universal. A love/knowledge of cricket (which I have) may also improve appreciation for certain aspects of it.
