I drove to Townsville on Friday night, escorting a busload of Girl Guides (my daughter included) who were heading to a Jamboree of the Air camp and also transporting a carload of Army Cadets in my car (my eldest son included), to a weekend Section Competition. As soon as I got back, I had to head straight to the local hospital as my other son had been concussed during a game of rugby union that was part of an annual school competition. I then spent the rest of the night and next day in the hospital and following behind an ambulance to the ED of Townsville Hospital as he had suspected head injuries.
We returned home late last night (Saturday) with the all clear that there were no fractures but he's still experiencing some dramas. It was a long many hours, even in ED, and, worst of all, I had no book to keep me company ! To help me through the next time I have a child in hospital (it happens far too often for my liking!), I've decided I'm buying a Kindle after all, to keep in my car!!!
