celtic rock tends to have a rather nice feel to it. Many of those music types directly from or based on the ancient times in europe (at least) tends to be nice. the pieces tend to be made for quality rather than popularity as songs tend to be today. If something was bad back then, it did not survive to the now. These days almost anything will survive because of the innumerable ways of recording and the strange tastes of the few.

Farseer thanks for posting that up. I adore Celtic music in many flavors. It IS relaxing.

Just starting to recognize what a genius Freddie Mercury was. Composer, arranger, pianist, vocalist. And the drama! Definitely turn the volume up to "11".

I've seen the Courtyard Hounds, two of the original Dixie Chicks, at 5,000 feet (1,500 meters) in Yosemite (my second most favorite place to be, after the seashore). I go to the Strawberry Music Festival twice a year, to camp out with my brothers and listen to bluegrass and other assorted genres. I'm not that crazy about bluegrass, but it's a great festival.

When I'm jogging, I listen to vintage new age (now there's an oxymoron!) and JS Bach, who never goes out of style. When driving, taking the bus, or puttering about, I listen to podcasts, including two from Radio National (All in the Mind and Ockham's Razor)

FoolishGirl, I'm not much of a Queen fan, but I do recall watching Flash Gordon quite a few times, for the steamy combination of music and beefcake!

@Narya Bach! I have almost everything on CD, and a healthy pile of LPs too.
