celtic rock tends to have a rather nice feel to it. Many of those music types directly from or based on the ancient times in europe (at least) tends to be nice. the pieces tend to be made for quality rather than popularity as songs tend to be today. If something was bad back then, it did not survive to the now. These days almost anything will survive because of the innumerable ways of recording and the strange tastes of the few.

Note:
when 'thul write in all italics, it is the lord of the three realms within 'thul speaking. A fairly egoistical, but also somewhat simple-minded dragon. Do not take such posts at face value.

Those were rather nice and relaxing, Farseer. I'm very fond of bagpipes and things. Smiling

Not everyone's cup of tea, I know, but it's all about Fitz Smiling

!!!! I just read the lyrics posted on that video and you're right, it IS all about Fitz !!!!

Was that intentional or purely coincidence? Big Grin

:: double post ::

Farseer thanks for posting that up. I adore Celtic music in many flavors. It IS relaxing.

And to further that thought... here's something also 'worldly' and extremely relaxing:

It was intentional, I believe. A member of the band had read the books and became obsessed enough to write a song about Fitz. Big Grin Those lyrics are spot on!

That was also nice and relaxing Valarya. The sitar has a lovely sound.

I've had this xlr8r podcast on repeat the past few days. Big man Richie Hawtin (aka Plastikman) put together a short, but heavy, 30 minute set for the blog.

IT's sooooooo good. Joost, you might appreciate this. Smiling

Intentional, at least according to Wikipedia:

No doubt I've shared these before but I only had the one CD in my car while driving the 1200kms to the coast and back:

Funny that I have to be on thePlenty to finally see the film clips for the songs I listen to...if I didn't post here, I'd never come across them. I'd much rather listen than watch!! P

Just starting to recognize what a genius Freddie Mercury was. Composer, arranger, pianist, vocalist. And the drama! Definitely turn the volume up to "11". Wink

I've seen the Courtyard Hounds, two of the original Dixie Chicks, at 5,000 feet (1,500 meters) in Yosemite (my second most favorite place to be, after the seashore). I go to the Strawberry Music Festival twice a year, to camp out with my brothers and listen to bluegrass and other assorted genres. I'm not that crazy about bluegrass, but it's a great festival.

When I'm jogging, I listen to vintage new age (now there's an oxymoron!) and JS Bach, who never goes out of style. When driving, taking the bus, or puttering about, I listen to podcasts, including two from Radio National (All in the Mind and Ockham's Razor)

FoolishGirl, I'm not much of a Queen fan, but I do recall watching Flash Gordon quite a few times, for the steamy combination of music and beefcake!

But as for me, my heart is with the Sea, and I will dwell by the grey shores until the last ship sails.

Dixie chicks is one of those bands on my ever-growing 'should check them out' list.

@Narya Bach! I have almost everything on CD, and a healthy pile of LPs too.

I've been listening to a lot of noise/soundscapes/drones lately.
