Forum Alerts

I've been using the "new reply" alerts via email to let me know when there are new posts, but now that the forum has gotten more regular visitors I'm looking for a way to be alerted without filling up my inbox.

Anyone have any alternate ways to monitor a forum without using email alerts? I'm thinking of a few ideas:

- alerts via a firefox plugin (haven't found one yet)
- RSS feeds routed through Yahoo Pipes (haven't explored this one much)
- route forum alert emails to some kind of alert system that notifies me some other way than email

Ideas?

Hmmm sorry I have no help really!!
I'd probably just turn the alerts off , with people like me posting up a storm

I think if you just checked back here every few days you could guarantee there'd be at least some new posts.
