...you don't go to sleep one night because you have an early 2am start in the car, to make sure that you reach your 1000kms-away destination in time, but discover about three hundred kilometres into the car trip that you have taken a wrong turn in the dark (about two hundred and fifty kilometres prior), and are heading in enitirely the opposite direction with no shortcut from the road you are on to the one that you are *supposed* to be on, due to becoming so involved in your Ship of Magic audiobook...   As for the wrong road, you've travelled it over and over and over again and know it so well (as well as the right road) that you should have, and would have if you'd been paying any kind of attention, known you were on the wrong road any number of times before your discovery...

...you're up late at night doing bookwork in the office and, in a bit of hurry to get things done, you stamp the invoices with a self-inking stamp and then curse the ink for not drying quickly enough, and you suddenly imagine yourself as Fitz, sitting in his hut drying his inks... ...you go to the main bathroom to check for general tidiness and discover that, while you were in town the day before, your eleven-year-old daughter bought a deodorant described on its exterior as being "a blend of sandalwood and amber notes" and so you snitch it for yourself (EDIT: and it doesn't even smell that nice! END EDIT)...  Be thankful I only subject you to very few of these, and only every now and then...!

too dangerous a concept, that... best leave it alone... on that thought, 'thul did see a flying thing from below... It might not have been a dragon ('twas a paraglider), but still made one think it was a good thing there was no clearing there... all safe from swooping attacks...

A van with "Paragon" written on the side went past my house today. I'm pretty sure I shouldn't have been as excited as I was. |
