Yeah, fishkeeping isn't as easy as a lot of people think it is. You can't just choose whatever species you think are pretty and put them together in a cute little bowl. Well, you can - but they will die very quickly. Some species will fight for space and/or food, some want to live alone and some require to have a whole school of them before they are happy. Some want lots of open space to swim around a water that moves around, and some prefer darker water and lots of hiding places. And then you need to know what sort of temperatures each one prefers and pH values and ... well, I'm not going to bore you with all the details.
