I agree and I'm also at the very same point...except that I don't have a day off tomorrow. Will have to finish Season One late into tonight. Lots of office work to do today and school etc tomorrow.
I was also surprised by how the majority of actors who were cast for the show matched well with the interpretations of the characters that I'd had in my head whilst reading eg Cersei and Jaime.
Of course, I had to also re-experience the negative feelings I had about the books but that's okay.
EDIT: And I'd definitely not put it up there as a 'favourite tv show' of mine. I think I'd have enjoyed it far less if I'd not read the books first.
