Yes, 'thul, it was Nighteyes talking to Fitz but it wasn't because they were both feeling a bit past it and/or had decided to hunt...it was a response to a third party's observations and the main reason why I think it's comical. 
Hopefully I'm not being too picky, asking for such specifics!
