Perhaps Elderlings are fairly short of torso, but have unnaturally long limbs?
I'm trying to decipher this so forgive me if I make a mash of it!
*Farseer spoiler?* I did, indeed, get the impression that Elderlings were simply taller, ah, kind of stretchier (?!) versions of humans? I have an image in my mind but how to describe it I have no idea!
Okay. Here's a picture of the Grand Councilwoman from Disney's Lilo and Stitch as she, with a more human-looking head and feet, probably matches my image regarding Elderling 'shape' better than anything else I can come up with at the moment:

Looking at her, I guess it could be said that her torso is fairly short in comparison to her limbs?
Why is it when I think of something in one thread, I must go and put something related to it in another?!
