He is also currently reading The Mad Ship and can't put it down...quite a huge turnaround for someone who used to be a non-reader and hated fantasy of any kind, and also considering he swore black and blue that he'd never read LST as "it doesn't have Fitz"! Smiling

My boyfriend is reading the LST at the moment too! (well 'too' may not be accurate as your husband is most likely finished by now!)

He started it a couple of times and couldn't get into it (*gasp*)
He read all of the Tawny Man ages ago ..... duh!!

I can't believe he doesn't like the serpents bits in LST! What the? Heh I loved those guys. And he doesn't like Wintrow!
He'll probably end up saying Kennit is the hero or something!!!
And now I'm kicking myself for telling him (AGES ago)

who Amber is! THEN the other day he mentioned the guy Althea meets on the Ophelia - is it Greg or something - and I said yeah I liked him it's a pity they didnt get together - and he said THANKS FOR TELLING ME - woops!!!!!!

What did you think of 'Homecoming' in relation to the reincarnation thing????????? It kind of changed my mind (maybe!) on what I THOUGHT was going on there. (is this covered in another thread? I couldn't find it!)

Right now I'm reading The Vampire Armand. Really quite erotic compared to the other books in the series.

I finished Sucide Kings yesterday, just in time for the release of:

A DANCE WITH DRAGONS

Yes, despite what I said earlier, local bookstores do in fact have this book on time. So I cancelled my Amazon order and headed for the store. Sure, it's a little pricier, but at least now there's no chance of the package arriving on my doorstep when I'm already on vacation.

^ That's terrific news, AR! I'll be buying it but won't be reading any of them until the final book is out on shelves (something to do in my retirement years?).

No, he's still plodding along in LST, Nuytsia. It took him a while to get through SoM, then he zoomed through TMS, and is now stuck halfway through SoD...Blink who gets stuck THERE?! I told him the other day that I was going to have to take on the role of being his RotE coach if he didn't get a hurry on..."C'mon, you can do it, one page at a time, keep going, don't give up now, that's it, that's it..." Yep, I've done the same, more than a few times! Blushing I just get so caught up in the story. The funny part is that I spoiled the whole series for him prior to his beginning TM because he insisted he was never going to read LST so I may as well tell him what happened. Thankfully he has a (very, as I have discovered!) short memory and can only recall the most vital surprise.

Hmm...I think I mentioned it all (reincarnation/life after death) first in the Rooster Crown or plot hole thread and then again in the questions we still have about RotE thread. Undecided How about I meet you over in the Homecoming thread as I have other things from the story I need to unearth (!!), and we can chat spoiler-free?

Tawny man trilogy. I'm almost through book 2. I could remember most of what happened, but (re)discovered several things I had forgotten.

Odd thing though: Nighteyes' death didn't touch me much this time. Kettricken's grieving over it and Fitz getting hurt while killing Laudwine did however

Assassin's Quest...again! Ok that was a bit dramatic, it's only the 2nd time but as most of us know, a re-read brings up all sorts of things that one didn't notice first time or were just forgotten. Great stuff it is! Smiling

Undergoing withdrawal after completing A Dance with Dragons. I looked for a different book during lunch today to continue reading where I left off but ended up going back and picked out some POVs to revisit.

Particularly Cersei's and Dany's solitary walks.

I'm gonna start aDwD tonight. Earlier this week I read 'Rose red', the 15th volume in the Fables graphic novel series. I loved it! After the slightly disappointing Witches (which was only half a story, finished in this volume), Bill Willingham is back in the saddle. Bellflower is one badass witch!

Finished ADWD a week ago, my thoughts are in the ASOIAF thread. I'm now reading De rivier van de tijd (The River of Time) by John Vermeulen, a historical novel about Nostradamus. It has spent quite some time on my to-read pile since I found it among the bargains, and I have to say: the past few years, I have unearthed quite some gems from the bargain section (Rashomon, The Three Musketeers, Dead Witch Walking, Dreamsongs and last but not least: Neuropath), but this is not one of them. It's rather blandly written in fact. Plus, it's a straight-up historical novel suggesting Nostramus' powers of prophecy were real, and I don't believe in that stuff at all.
