I did the same yesterday on Amazon.uk. I'm really, really, really going mad about that book! Big Grin

There's now an exclusive early extract from the Dragon Keeper at the Voyager UK blog which you can read here. Book

I laughed at the part with the plastic baby.

I was excited to see the trailer but am kind of disappointed now that I've seen it. This was obviously low budget but even low budget projects could be amazing if the crew behind it put lots of effort into it. From the first stills released I knew it wouldn't be a full blown, unlimited budget, cinema quality trailer, but I was hoping it would get me excited for the book. I think anyone who wasn't familiar with the series or with Robin's work would not be very interested to look into it.

I'm still going to buy the book though Big Grin

On the other hand, I rarely ever see any trailers advertising books. Most of them are just voice overs with a display of the book and rarely any footage of what one might imagine seeing while reading it. So who knows, maybe we'll be seeing more book trailers in the future Smiling

Book trailers are lot more common than you think. Personally, I hate them because they kill my own imagination...

This is the first one I ever saw.

I suppose it could be mostly because I'm never really on the lookout for book trailers when trying to find a new book to read. I usually go by recommendations or reviews by readers rather than trailers, which often give me an idea of whether this book would appeal to me or not. The few ones I see aired on television are brief and don't really grab my attention. The voice overs are killer, sometimes, exaggerating and promising so much of an experience that should be personal.

Anyway, after re watching the trailer again I noticed that an owl is seen twice. Maybe I'm over analyzing but does anybody else think it might be suggesting a new Witted character?

I'm sorry Mervi. That really sucks. Your book doesn't even have to go overseas... I can't believe you didn't get your book before me.
