Reindeer People + Wolf's Brother available again

UK reprints of a classic Megan Lindholm tale, the two-part The Reindeer People / Wolf's Brother, were officially published today - although some early copies were already available in Supanova earlier this month.
You can buy copies form amazon.co.uk or the BookDepository (TRP, WB). The new cover art for these reprints was done by Jackie Morris.

I have to wonder about one thing...

The Reindeer People and Wolf's Brother were originally written as one book. This becomes apparent if you read them: the first doesn't really have a climax, it just... ends. And then the second one picks up right where the first left off. Apparently, it was split because of length issues, but look how slim the volumes are! Maybe things worked differently book then, but with Hobb's line of 700+ books, couldn't they have reprinted this as a single book? For some reason it really grates on me...

There actually is a book club edition of the story, "A Saga of the Reindeer People" where both parts were printed together. It's from the 80's so it is not widely available anymore, but you can still sometimes see copies surface on places like ebay. Here's what the cover looks like.

I ordered these two just the other day and also ordered Wizard Of The Pigeons and Alien Earth.

After that (I was going purchase crazy) I ordered the Gypsy from Waterstones for £4.99 (mentioned as it was much cheaper than Amazon).

Hopefully these will be up to scratch.

It does look like I will have to wait a year to complete my collection as Cloven Hoofs is expected at the same time as the Windsingers books Down

@ Mervi: I know, but why can't that be the standard edition now, considering that these days most publishers are perfectly willing to print 1000+ page books?

@ Maulkin's Tangle: Cloven Hooves has been listed for reprinting too? Well, don't get your hopes up too high...

I just finished reading both books and I can't agree more with Albertosaurus Rex; it should've been one book. Luckily I had them both from the library so I could continue reading. It's divided in two small parts and there's no reason for splitting it.
Definately not her best book(s), i'd say it's her worst but still worth reading though. (i read all her books except WotP, Alien Earth and Gypsy)
