Coupled with the thought of a man walking down a hallway towards me, carrying a (bloodied?) axe? To borrow a quote from our dear Fitz, "I very nearly wet myself"! It was chilling, to say the least!

Aside from the fear factor, I could appreciate the whistling ability as I tend to whistle A LOT when I listen to music...in fact, the very first thing my now husband said to me when we first met down at our shearing shed was, "Can you sing?". When I asked him why that was, he said, "Because you can't whistle."

These beings took that guard from a semi-animated movie... Who framed roger rabbit?
If you ever doubted it, no, that bouncer is not human. But it is very much "brawny"

Apparently the song appeared in an semi-ancient horror movie... "Twisted Nerve"
IMDB dates the movie as released in 1968.

These beings, being fairly poor at whistling, can almost manage a primitive form of that song, but they cannot get the right frequency and volume.

I've got Forgive Me Father by Cradle of Filth stuck in my head at the moment. Just saw the video recently and it's totally stuck in my brain.

Ordo Rosarius equilibrio and In slaughter natives were really good on friday, the other bands were OK but not spectacular.

But it was nothing compared to Kim Wilde today. That was totally AWESOME! Almost 2 hours, all my favourite tracks, and some really nice surprises (Jessica with just Kim on piano, an acoustic version of Love blonde, and covers of Forever young (Alphaville) and Sleeping satellite (Tasmin Archer)). Yep, definitely the best concert of this year so far.

Orla Fallon's new CD "My Land" was released this month and it's been almost the only thing I've listened these past few weeks.

It's a traditional Gaelic song. I had to do a bit of googling since there's lots of variations and this one has bits and pieces of it, but I think I've got it together.

Mo Ghile Mear - My Gallant Darling

Chorus:

The song then morphs into the melody of another traditional Irish song, "Haste to the Wedding", and then the chorus is repeated twice more.

The chorus translates as

Ahh... As 'thul suspected, it was Gaelic...The style fit with that region of the world and it did not match other languages that used similar styles...
