THul The Vampire Lestat is actually in this man's opinion the best of the vampire books that Anne Rice wrote....
Although the mention of the movies always makes think of that line from the film BOWFINGER

The Vampire Lestat concerns itself with the story of Lestat...his vampire birth and unlife leading up to the events that occurred in Interview with the Vampire. In Interview Lestat is relegated to villain status...He's not.
