"First, let me introduce you to yourself" (Beware RotE Spoilers)

I finished reading the books maybe a week ago and have not been able to shake the world out of my head.
I think the hard part is that the characters are so well written and there is so much suffering and little gratification -- at least for the characters that you would like to see gratified

I became so invested in the Fool´s character and his tragic romantic hopes that I almost stopped reading after Fitz shut him down in the Golden Fool
It was even more taxing than the tortures to come -- as a reader I think it is easier to relate to emotional rejection than torture.
I think Fitz got a little slice of everything that he wished for at least. I think perhaps the Fool was a bit too greedy insisting to be the "most beloved".

It appears that it's been a long time since anyone has introduced themselves in this thread, but here I am, adding my introduction. I've been deeply comforted, fascinated, moved, and educated by Robin Hobb's world, and by Fitz, for 20 years. I'm happy to be here, and looking forward to taking part in discussions on the forum.
