Hello from Germany to all Robin Hobb Fans ! I got to love Robin's books some years ago, when I already had given up the faith to find fantasy that really fascinates me. I am an early Lord of the Rings-child (ages ago) and always was looking for something that took me over so completely as LotR did at that time. And never found it until I just by chance found the story about Fitz. Since then I read each of Robin's books and I love her stories and the world, she creates in her wonderful language. I really look forward to talk about her books and more with people, who know what I am talking about. And who love her books as much as I do. I live in the countryside close to Hamburg, a northern german city together with my husband, 3 dogs and 2 pigs. And many, many books . So, I'm looking forward to having a good time with you. In the next days I will spend my little time working myself through the forum. Don't be annoyed, when I don't talk that much. It's still hard work for me to write in English, as it's quite some time ago, that I practised it. Best regards Christina

I always feel like I'm in an alcoholics anonymous whenever I type in these things, lol...My (screen)name is Possessed, I'm from London and I read Assassin's Apprentice when I was roundabouts ten? I enjoy rereading it now almost as much as I enjoy reading it then, and my main reason for joining these forums is that these books tend to be extremely complex at times, and I look forward to reading and discussing theories people might have on the books...

Yes, Robin's books are certainly complex! I love a good theory (and offer more than my fair share of strange ones ) , and discussions that include different perspectives and opinions are the best things about being here on thePlenty, I think - it's fantastic to have you join us!

Hello Farseer and all others, thanks for that warm welcome. It is really nice ! Ha, the world can be small sometimes, can't it Must have probably been at the end of the 19th century (I'm not clever - I just googled for the ship ) We have two pigs since 10 years and I adore them . I'm sure, you no, what I mean. Farseer, did you manage to see Robin, when she was over in Australia ? I was soooooooooooooo envious, I'd have loved to meet her. Nice to be with you (I love that smily) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do have a report which I intend to post when it's finished (I started it the day I got back which was, oh, eighteen days ago and it's still waiting! ). Actually, I'd planned to have it up while Robin was still in the country but then I realised I had not a lot of concrete 'anything' to really recount and even less to show due to a faulty camera. You'll know what I mean when I finally put it up! If you ever get a chance to meet her...do!

Hi, I was thrilled to find this forum as I've become a massive fan of Robin Hobb's books! I've just completed the Farseer Trilogy and am a few pages into Fool's Errand as we speak. These books have gripped me completely. I love everything about them..the writing style, the characters, the settings, all of it! I adore Fitz, a gorgeous (personality-wise) boy and so far, an equally gorgeous man (looks-wise too maybe ) I've laughed with him and cried for him over the course of the trilogy and loved every single minute! But I digress, I'm relatively new to fantasy and find myself very much enjoying the books I've read so far (especially these) and eagerly look forward to reading many more. Also, I look forward to perusing this forum further and reading all your views and to posting more random ramblings..oh yes I can ramble! |
